Un Campeonato del Mundo Contrarreloj en casa, esa era la misi\u00f3n de los favoritos Evenepoel y Van Aert. Evenepoel fue el primero en establecer un tiempo fuerte, pero Van Aert lo hizo a\u00fan mejor. Fue la campeona mundial saliente Ganna quien lo convirti\u00f3 en un Campeonato del Mundo tremendamente emocionante en el punto intermedio final. En la l\u00ednea de meta fue el italiano quien se llev\u00f3 su segundo t\u00edtulo mundial consecutivo con una ventaja de 5 segundos.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eran las 14:40; hab\u00eda llegado el momento. El inicio del Campeonato Mundial de Ruta UCI 2021 podr\u00eda finalmente comenzar con la Contrarreloj Individual Masculina \u00c9lite. Despu\u00e9s de un minuto de silencio en memoria del fallecido analista dan\u00e9s y ex corredor de ciclismo Chris Anker Sorensen, le pas\u00f3 al presidente de la UCI, David Lappartient, abrir la carrera.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

El primer tiempo fuerte fue establecido por el alem\u00e1n Walscheid. No pas\u00f3 mucho tiempo antes de que el corredor local Evenepoel venciera el tiempo de Walscheid. Tom\u00f3 su lugar en el asiento caliente en el escenario en ‘t Zand en Brujas, con Walscheid y Bisseger a su lado. Despu\u00e9s de eso, todas las miradas estaban puestas en los \u00faltimos tres ca\u00f1ones en el podio de salida en Knokke-Heist: el campe\u00f3n de Europa K\u00fcng, Van Aert y el campe\u00f3n mundial saliente Ganna.<\/p>\n

K\u00fcng no pudo repetir su actuaci\u00f3n en la Eurocopa. Fue m\u00e1s lento que el Evenepoel y termin\u00f3 en cuarto lugar. Van Aert, por su parte, se dispuso de inmediato a hacer el trabajo y fue el m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en los puntos intermedios, con Ganna en segundo lugar. Sin embargo, en el segundo y \u00faltimo punto intermedio, su ventaja hab\u00eda disminuido a menos de un segundo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Los \u00faltimos 10 km decidir\u00edan el vencedor de la primera carrera en estos Campeonatos del Mundo de Ruta UCI 2021. En la l\u00ednea de meta, los espectadores recibieron a su favorito Van Aert con fuertes aplausos, pero no mucho m\u00e1s tarde tanto los aficionados como Wout tuvieron que conformarse con el segundo puesto. El campe\u00f3n italiano saliente Ganna fue 5 segundos m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en la l\u00ednea de meta, extendiendo su t\u00edtulo mundial.<\/p>\n
