Villalobos utiliz\u00f3 3:25:06 para transitar los 149,9 km de la etapa que recorri\u00f3 los departamentos de Ull\u00fam, Zonda y Rivadavia, a un promedio de 43,852 km\/h, convirti\u00e9ndose en el nuevo L\u00edder de la General. El exigente circuito, con las variantes del relieve ullunero, se prest\u00f3 para ganarse la admiraci\u00f3n de todos los medios. El parcial se defini\u00f3 en los \u00faltimos 20 km, luego que el pelot\u00f3n neutraliz\u00f3 una fuga que dur\u00f3 dos horas y media. En los \u00faltimos ataques, tres hombres especialistas en la monta\u00f1a, lograron superar al mal\u00f3n. Rom\u00e1n Villalobos (Canel\u2019s Specialized) remat\u00f3 al final para superar a Ricardo Escuela(AVF) y al belga Tiejs Benoot (Lotto).<\/p>\n<p>Con la segunda posici\u00f3n que obtuvo en el pasado mes de diciembre en la Vuelta de su Costa Rica Natal, Rom\u00e1n Villalobos conoce mucho de ascensos. En su palmar\u00e9s, inscribi\u00f3 su nombre en dos Vueltas a Guatemala (2015\/2016) de categor\u00eda UCI 2.2, por lo que el hombre del Canel\u2019s Specialized no result\u00f3 un improvisado. Al costarricense le respondieron mejor las piernas y defini\u00f3 un mano a mano con un Ricardo Escuela, que se mostr\u00f3 encendid\u00edsimo en el \u00faltimo kil\u00f3metro escalando hasta el Alto del Dique Punta Negra.<\/p>\n<p>El primer descenso, determin\u00f3 la intensidad que tendr\u00edan los casi 150 km por recorrer. Ya en el llano zondino, cuatro hombres se pusieron al frente para ganarse todas las emociones intermedias. Gerardo Tivani (Pocito) hizo levantar la tribuna local, sumando puntos en las Metas de Monta\u00f1a y Sprinter. Los que acompa\u00f1aron al pocitano fueron: el mexicano Ignacio Prado (Canel\u2019s), el colombiano Carlos Alzate (United Health Care) y el charr\u00faa Roderyck Asconeguy (URU).<\/p>\n<p>La cuarteta vanguardista, lleg\u00f3 a obtener poco m\u00e1s de cinco minutos de diferencia. Pasando la segunda Meta de Monta\u00f1a, Asconeguy abandon\u00f3 la punta. Metros despu\u00e9s de la Tercera Meta, lo har\u00eda Tivani. Solo dos sobrevivientes quedaron para disputar la Meta Sprinter y la \u00faltima de ascenso. Arriba, sigue mandando Adri\u00e1n Richeze (6 puntos).<\/p>\n<p>Unos segundos de incertidumbre se vivi\u00f3 dentro del Quick Step, cuando Fernando Gaviria sufri\u00f3 un pinchazo en el \u00faltimo giro, que determin\u00f3 que sus compa\u00f1eros de escuadra lo re-ingresaron al grupo.<\/p>\n<p>Ya sin metas por disputar, media docena de hombres relanzaron una alternativa. Winner Anacona (Movistar), Jelle Wallays (LOTTO), Cesar Paredes (Medell\u00edn), Jos\u00e9 Luis Rodr\u00edguez (SEP), Marco Arriagada (Pocito) y Rafael De Mattos (Brasil) que, al no ponerse de acuerdo, dur\u00f3 lo que un suspiro. El elenco del Quick Step, pas\u00f3 a comandar la competencia poni\u00e9ndose al frente en los \u00faltimos 15 km. Mientras que el italiano Mattia Bais puso unos segundos de luz en solitario. Luego del acople, el juje\u00f1o Gonzalo N\u00e1jar (SEP) rompi\u00f3 la hegemon\u00eda del grupo en pleno ascenso mostrando las dotes de escalador del Campe\u00f3n Argentino.<\/p>\n<p><img Benoot (Lotto) y sobrepasar a Ricardo Escuela (AVF), ganando por primera vez una etapa en Argentina, y empezar a planear la estrategia para la etapa Reina, cuando el viernes llegue el turno del
