El murciano ha sumado su d\u00e9cimo triunfo en La Vuelta al batir al polaco Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky), nuevo l\u00edder de la carrera despu\u00e9s de ser el segundo ayer en la contrarreloj de M\u00e1laga.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Valverde no ganaba una etapa en La Vuelta desde que batiera a Peter Sagan en la 4\u00aa etapa de la edici\u00f3n de 2015, en Vejer de la Frontera. En esta ocasi\u00f3n, ya con 38 a\u00f1os, el veterano ha vuelto a demostrar su clase en los finales explosivos arrancando a 500 metros para la meta, rebasando a un Laurens De Plus (Quick Step Floors) que hab\u00eda atacado medio kil\u00f3metro antes, dejando que Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky) le alcanzara para lanzar el sprint y batirle en la segunda vez que La Vuelta llegaba a la cima malague\u00f1a.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4271\" src=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/29478.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"666\" srcset=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/29478.jpg 1000w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/29478-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/29478-768x511.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La jornada ha empezado con una fuga tempranera formada por el marbell\u00ed Luis \u00c1ngel Mat\u00e9 (Cofidis), Alexis Gougeard (Ag2r La Mondiale), Thomas De Gendt (Lotto-Soudal), Pierre Rolland (Education First-Drapac), Jonathan Lastra (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), Pablo Torres (Burgos-BH) y H\u00e9ctor S\u00e1ez (Euskadi-Murias), que se ha consolidado nada m\u00e1s empezar el Puerto de Oj\u00e9n (2\u00aa categor\u00eda), que se coronaba en el kil\u00f3metro 7,5 de etapa.<\/p>\n<p>Tanto all\u00ed como en los pasos por los altos de Guadalhorce y Ardales (3\u00aa categor\u00eda) ha pasado en cabeza Mat\u00e9, que ha cerrado la jornada que part\u00eda desde su Marbella natal asegurando el maillot de mejor escalador de La Vuelta. El equipo BMC del l\u00edder Rohan Dennis controlaba su distancia para que no creciera a m\u00e1s de 3 minutos, dado el alto nivel de los integrantes del grupo de cabeza, aunque finalmente los fugados han sido neutralizados ante el fuerte ritmo de los equipos Movistar Team y Team Sky, siendo Rolland y Gougeard los dos que m\u00e1s han resistido.<\/p>\n<p>Valverde y Kwiatkowski, de esta forma, han hecho bueno el trabajo de sus respectivos equipos logrando sumar la victoria de etapa el primero y el liderato el segundo. El polaco, reciente vencedor de la Vuelta a Polonia, acab\u00f3 en segunda posici\u00f3n en la contrarreloj de M\u00e1laga y se ha situado como nuevo l\u00edder de la carrera, con 14 segundos sobre el murciano y 25 sobre el neerland\u00e9s Wilco Kelderman (Team Sunweb). Kwiatkowski ya visti\u00f3 la roja durante una jornada en La Vuelta de 2016, y en esta ocasi\u00f3n tiene galones en el equipo para tratar de defender el liderato tanto como pueda.<\/p>\n<p>La mayor parte de los favoritos a la victoria final siguen en el margen de un minuto, si bien hay algunas excepciones por las p\u00e9rdidas de hoy: el tercer clasificado de 2017, el ruso Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha-Alpecin) se sit\u00faa a 1:31, el ganador de 2010 Vincenzo Nibali (Bahrain-Merida) cede ya 4:44, mientras que Richie Porte (BMC Racing Team) se ha dejado hoy m\u00e1s de 13 S\u00ed y no. Sab\u00eda que las sensaciones eran buenas. Despu\u00e9s del Tour he tratado de descansar mucho, he aprovechado para entrenar bien en la playa, en Murcia, dando un respiro al cuerpo y buscando que la forma fuese progresando aqu\u00ed. Hoy se ha podido confirmar que la direcci\u00f3n era la correcta. Antes de la salida ya ten\u00edamos instrucciones de pasar con todo el equipo hacia adelante en el circuito final, ya que eran zonas peligrosas y estrechas donde, para no correr riesgos, habr\u00eda que tomar las riendas. El calor ha hecho much\u00edsimo da\u00f1o y me ha sorprendido ver a tanta gente cortarse. Conforme me iban diciendo que se quedaban corredores a tener en cuenta en una llegada as\u00ed, \u00edbamos m\u00e1s motivados. Sab\u00eda que el rival m\u00e1s importante a vigilar era \u2018Kwiato\u2019, pero no pod\u00eda esperar porque\u00a0De Plus hab\u00eda arrancado por delante. He aguantado para arrancar hasta los \u00faltimos 550-600 metros, pensando en darlo todo hasta el final. Creo que he calculado muy bien; he visto que Kwiatkowski ven\u00eda a un metro de m\u00ed y que hab\u00eda tenido que castigarse mucho para ir conmigo. Lo he dejado pasar antes de la \u00faltima curva a derechas, ya que sab\u00eda que las rampas me dejaban margen para remontar de nuevo, y una vez en recta de meta he vuelto a progresar otra vez en el sprint. De momento ya tenemos una victoria y hemos cumplido uno de los objetivos que ten\u00eda para esta Vuelta. El Tour no sali\u00f3 como quer\u00eda, no tuve las sensaciones que buscaba y las piernas no fueron demasiado bien, y ten\u00eda ganas de volver a sumar un triunfo, despu\u00e9s de un par de meses, y de volver a ganar aqu\u00ed en la Vuelta tras no poder estar el a\u00f1o pasado. La Vuelta me encanta. El Giro es muy bonito, el Tour es muy bonito\u2026 pero la Vuelta es mi carrera. Soy espa\u00f1ol y me encanta. Hemos empezado muy bien y toca ir paso a paso. \u00bfLa general? Yo no me descarto ni mucho menos, porque vemos que estoy bien y esto acaba de empezar, pero est\u00e1 claro que nuestro l\u00edder debe ser Nairo, y en ning\u00fan momento puedo decir que me voy a implicar al 100% en esa pelea, porque puede no ser as\u00ed. Si tengo que trabajar porque podemos optar al triunfo en la Vuelta, lo har\u00e9 sin dudarlo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michal Kwiatkowski<\/strong> (Team Sky), nuevo l\u00edder de La Vuelta: \u201cNo es la manera en que quer\u00eda conseguir el liderato. Realmente esperaba ganar la etapa. El equipo estuvo incre\u00edble antes del final, pero Valverde ha estado impresionante. Cuando corre La Vuelta, no es nada f\u00e1cil batir a Alejandro. Es algo decepcionante, pero ya soy el l\u00edder de La Vuelta. Estoy contento por ayer y de mi forma hoy. Ahora toca mantenerse centrado y tratar de ganar otra etapa. Por ahora, quiero celebrar el momento. La Vuelta es muy larga. Creo que las etapas 4 y 5 ser\u00e1n muy imporantes. Quiero disfrutar esta noche y luego correr con la roja ma\u00f1ana\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luis \u00c1ngel Mat\u00e9 (Cofidis), l\u00edder de la monta\u00f1a:<\/strong> \u201cEra el objetivo que me hab\u00eda marcado en cuanto supe que La Vuelta sal\u00eda de mi casa, por la carretera donde entreno todos los d\u00edas. Era la oportunidad de hacerlo en carrera, y ha sido un d\u00eda muy especial para m\u00ed: por correr en casa y por lograr este maillot. Se preve\u00eda una salida con muchos intentos de fuga por la opci\u00f3n de puntuar en la monta\u00f1a. Por ah\u00ed andaban Rolland y De Gendt, y en cuanto hemos cogido 10 segundos ya sab\u00eda que el pelot\u00f3n deb\u00eda ir muy r\u00e1pido para cogernos. En todo momento nos hemos entendido muy bien, y luego en la monta\u00f1a nos lo hemos jugado con De Gendt y Rolland, que \u00e9ramos los tres con m\u00e1s fuerza en la monta\u00f1a. Encantado de haber podido ganar a grandes corredores y vestir este maillot ma\u00f1ana. Ya que lo tengo y que ma\u00f1ana se sube un 1\u00aa como el Puerto del Madro\u00f1o, habr\u00e1 que intentar estar delante de nuevo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fran Ventoso (BMC):<\/strong> \u201cAyer fue un gran d\u00eda para nosotros, y hoy ha sido complicado. Hac\u00eda mucho calor. Nos hemos puesto a tirar desde el inicio, con una escapada muy fuerte a la que no se le pod\u00eda dejar mucho tiempo, y cuando se ha acabado de acelerar lo he pasado realmente mal. Richie (Porte) no estaba muy bien, lo iba diciendo estos d\u00edas. Rohan (Dennis) creo que tampoco ten\u00eda la mente clara en la general, est\u00e1 pensando m\u00e1s en la segundo crono larga, y despu\u00e9s imagino que abandonar\u00e1. Hoy no ha podido ser.
