Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky) se mantiene l\u00edder por tercera jornada consecutiva, aunque se le acercan a menos de 10 segundos Emanuel Buchmann y Simon Yates, los dos favoritos que han logrado recuperar segundos.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4305\" src=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/e2d70.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/e2d70.jpg 1000w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/e2d70-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/e2d70-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>La primera gran llegada en altura de la gran vuelta espa\u00f1ola se situaba en la Sierra de Alfaguara. 12,4 kil\u00f3metros de ascensi\u00f3n con un pendiente medio del 5,4%, pero con rampas que del 11% en su parte central que se esperaba que marcara algunas diferencias entre los favoritos. Tambi\u00e9n se superaba otro 1\u00aa categor\u00eda, el Alto de la Cabra Mont\u00e9s, en el kil\u00f3metro 66,7 de etapa.<\/p>\n<p>Una fuga con Ben Gastauer (Ag2r La Mondiale), Nikita Stalnov (Astana), Jelle Wallays (Lotto-Soudal), Ben King (Team Dimension Data), Pierre Rolland (Education First-Drapac), Lars Boom (Astana), \u00d3scar Cabedo (Burgos-BH), Luis \u00c1ngel Mat\u00e9 (Cofidis) y Aritz Bag\u00fces (Euskadi-Murias) ha salido, como en los \u00faltimos d\u00edas, de los primeros ataques de la jornada. Sin embargo, en esta ocasi\u00f3n han llegado a poder disputarse el triunfo de etapa despu\u00e9s de que el pelot\u00f3n, comandado por Team Sky, les dejara alcanzar una diferencia m\u00e1xima de cerca de 10 minutos.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4306\" src=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/1a5c2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/1a5c2.jpg 1000w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/1a5c2-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/1a5c2-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dos de de los escapados, Mat\u00e9 y Rolland, repet\u00edan presencia en cabeza de carrera por tercera jornada consecutiva, buscando luchar por una clasificaci\u00f3n de la monta\u00f1a que sigue liderando el marbell\u00ed con cierta diferencia.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00ed pues, la lucha en el pelot\u00f3n no ha llegado hasta el puerto final, donde ha sido el equipo LottoNL-Jumbo quien ha empezado a seleccionar el grupo. Cuando solamente quedaban 15 corredores, el brit\u00e1nico Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott), triple vencedor de etapa en el pasado Giro d\u2019Italia, ha decidido lanzar un ataque que le ha permitido situarse en tercer lugar de la clasificaci\u00f3n general, a solamente 10 segundos del l\u00edder, Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky). Entre ellos, el alem\u00e1n Emanuel Buchmann (Bora-hansgrohe), a solamente 7 segundos, que tambi\u00e9n ha saltado del grupo.<\/p>\n<p>Entre los fugados, la selecci\u00f3n se ha empezado a hacer a tres kil\u00f3metros de inicial la ascensi\u00f3n final, cuando se han destacado Nikita Stalnov (Astana) y el ganador final, King, junto a un Jelle Wallays (Lotto-Soudal) que no tardar\u00eda en ceder. Parec\u00eda que Pierre Rolland (Education First-Drapac) llegaba a su altura en el \u00faltimo kil\u00f3metro, pero finalmente la balanza se ha resuelto en favor del americano, m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en los metros finales.<\/p>\n<p><strong>DECLARACIONES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Benjamin King:<\/strong> \u201cEra parte del plan estar en la escapada. Una fuga grande con muchos corredores. Hoy era una oportunidad para m\u00ed pero no sab\u00eda muy bien c\u00f3mo gestionar mis energ\u00edas. Muchas cosas tienen que ir bien y alinearse para que suceda algo as\u00ed. Es incre\u00edble. Hubo un punto en el que me di cuenta de que la victoria se iba a jugar en el grupo de la fuga. No estaba convencido de poder ser el m\u00e1s fuerte. Sal\u00ed pronto y me puse en modo crono. A 20 km de la meta empec\u00e9 a pensar en la general porque era una opci\u00f3n viable. Al final termin\u00e9 fij\u00e1ndome el objetivo de lograr la victoria de etapa. Pierre Rolland intentaba cazarnos y cada vez estaba m\u00e1s cerca, as\u00ed que al final tuve que forzar la victoria al sprint. Decid\u00ed creer en m\u00ed en los 200 \u00faltimos metros, pero he llegado totalmente destrozado. Estaba vac\u00edo, con agujetas, mucho l\u00edquido en el est\u00f3mago de todo lo que hab\u00eda bebido durante la etapa. Lo importante era mantener la cabeza fuerte y nada pod\u00eda parar mi esfuerzo. Es enorme ganar en Europa. He ganado en Estados Unidos pero no tiene nada que ver con esto. Era mi objetivo al principio de la temporada y he sabido conservar las esperanzas. En el Giro las escapadas no tuvieron \u00e9xito. Hay que creer en s\u00ed, posicionarse para intentar ganar. Nadie hubiera dicho que hoy iba a triunfar la escapada pero si no lo intentas, no puedes conseguirlo. Es muy importante para el equipo. Ha sido una temporada dif\u00edcil para el grupo pero el ambiente es muy bueno. Creemos en lo que hacemos, en la esencia del equipo. Nos motiva la causa de Qhubeka y una victoria como la de hoy contribuye a la donaci\u00f3n de bicicletas. Es un honor correr por una buena causa y es una motivaci\u00f3n extra.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alejandro Valverde:<\/strong> \u201cHa sido una subida muy, muy r\u00e1pida, en la que hemos hecho todo lo que hemos podido. Cuando ha arrancado Yates hab\u00eda que estar atentos y no dejarle mucho hueco. He arrancado intentando llevar al grupo y cuando me han cogido, he decidido seguir tirando un poco por Nairo, para que no se le fuese mucho. Luego ten\u00eda que estar ah\u00ed. Queda much\u00edsima carrera todav\u00eda y seguimos estando plenamente metido en la lucha\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michal Kwiatkowski:<\/strong> \u201cHemos intentado contralar la escapada pero nos conven\u00eda la ventaja que ten\u00edan. Pens\u00e1bamos que otros equipos apretar\u00edan en la \u00faltima subida, y as\u00ed ha sido, con Lotto-Jumbo. Al principio de la carrera el ritmo era m\u00e1s relajado, pero la temperatura ha ido endureciendo la jornada. Cuando la escapada ha alcanzado los 10 min de ventaja y el term\u00f3metro marcaba 35\u00ba ha empezado a ser un reto. Hab\u00eda muchos corredores que pod\u00edan llevar al triunfo a la escapada. Hay que felicitar a Lotto-Jumbo, es una pena que no recolectaran resultados. Por mi parte, solo puedo decir que estoy contento por mantener el maillot. No soy el m\u00e1s peligroso de cara a la general: Quintana, Valverde, Bennet, Buchmann, ellos son los que tienen que poner presi\u00f3n si quieren ganar La Vuelta. Necesitan estos finales en alto para ganar tiempo. El escenario de hoy ha sido perfecto para m\u00ed. Mi inter\u00e9s no era cazar a la escapada, sino conservar una buena posici\u00f3n en la general a pesar de la \u00faltima subida, conservar fuerzas y eso es lo que he hecho. Estoy contento. Ma\u00f1ana si los sprinters sobreviven a las dificultades, puede ser una oportunidad para ellos. Yo voy a intentar disfrutar y mantener el maillot\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ion Izagirre:<\/strong> \u201cHe medido mis fuerzas, porque las de todos est\u00e1n todas muy parecidas. Hoy me he encontrado muy bien tambi\u00e9n. Ya dije desde el primer d\u00eda que ven\u00eda a disputar la general y que me estaba encontrando bien. Ahora toca ver hasta cu\u00e1ndo aguantamos. No s\u00e9 ni yo c\u00f3mo estoy aguantando este calor, no me gusta nada. Pero bueno, sufriendo como todos. Ya hab\u00edamos hablado con el equipo que dejar\u00edamos tranquilos a Vincenzo (Nibali) porque no llegaba al 100% despu\u00e9s de la lesi\u00f3n y la recuperaci\u00f3n que conlleva. Sab\u00edamos que ven\u00eda yo como l\u00edder desde el principio, y por ahora estoy respondiendo bien y estoy a gusto. Toca seguir as\u00ed, pero La Vuelta es larga y toca dosificar bien las fuerzas.
