El ganador de La Vuelta 2009 no se llevaba dos etapas en una misma edici\u00f3n desde 2012 y arranca unos segundos m\u00e1s en la general antes de la llegada a La Covatilla.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>175 corredores han tomado la salida de la 8\u00aa etapa de La Vuelta despu\u00e9s del abandono del neerland\u00e9s Maurits Lammertink (Katusha-Alpecin), la primera baja de la carrera. Esperaba una etapa donde los velocistas manten\u00edan ambiciones de victoria al haber menos desnivel que en jornadas anteriores, aunque el final escond\u00eda dureza.<\/p>\n<p>La etapa ha tenido poca complicaci\u00f3n, con una fuga con Tiago Machado (Katusha-Alpecin), Jorge Cubero (Burgos-BH) y H\u00e9ctor S\u00e1ez (Euskadi-Murias) formada en los primeros compases de etapa que ha superado con m\u00e1s de 12 minutos de ventaja el Alto de Espa\u00f1ares (3\u00aa categor\u00eda), en el kil\u00f3metro 82 de etapa, pero que ha sido controlada por los equipos de los velocistas. Bora-hansgrohe, Trek-Segafredo, Cofidis y Quick Step han trabajado conjuntamente para alcanzar a la escapada que m\u00e1s margen ha logrado tener en lo que llevamos de carrera, pero que no ha podido resistir al empuje de un grupo de favoritos con ganas de luchar la victoria de etapa en un final espectacular.<\/p>\n<p>Y as\u00ed ha sido. Despu\u00e9s de neutralizar a los fugados a 6 kil\u00f3metros para la meta, el pelot\u00f3n se ha acercado a toda velocidad al final en Almad\u00e9n, donde una dura recta de meta promet\u00eda un sprint emocionante. El asturiano Iv\u00e1n Garc\u00eda Cortina (Bahrain-Merida) ha querido lanzar la llegada desde muy lejos, haciendo todav\u00eda m\u00e1s exigente la resoluci\u00f3n de un final donde parec\u00eda que el campe\u00f3n del mundo Peter Sagan (Bora-hansgrohe) pod\u00eda por fin alzar los brazos hasta que ha aparecido el incansable Alejandro Valverde (Movistar Team), ya ganador en la segunda jornada en Caminito del Rey, para batirle y situarse gracias a la bonificaci\u00f3n a solamente 37 segundos del liderato del franc\u00e9s Rudy Molard (Groupama-FDJ) antes de la esperada llegada en alto a La \/>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DECLARACIONES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Alejandro Valverde:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cS\u00ed que estoy muy sorprendido por la victoria. Y eso que sab\u00eda que el final era duro, pero no tan duro. Arrieta me insist\u00eda por la radio, por lo que le hab\u00eda contado nuestro staff que estaba en meta, que era una llegada buen\u00edsima para m\u00ed, y me dec\u00eda: \u2018C\u00f3gele la rueda al que te adelant\u00f3 ayer\u2019. Le he respondido: \u2018Mira, \u2018Arri\u2019, no voy a disputar la etapa. Voy a intentar no perder tiempo y ya est\u00e1\u2019. Lo cierto es que hab\u00eda much\u00edsima tensi\u00f3n en el acercamiento a Almad\u00e9n y el equipo ha trabajado muy bien para llevarme hasta la cabeza. Como era todo picando hacia arriba hasta la rotonda a falta de 500m, me he visto favorecido para seguir yendo hacia adelante, cogerle la rueda a Peter y disputar la etapa. En la recta de meta iba a pasarle por la derecha a Sagan, pero Peter -y no ha sido queriendo- me ha cerrado por la derecha y me daba miedo intentar pasar por ah\u00ed. He dejado de pedalear, me he ido por la izquierda, Nizzolo iba tambi\u00e9n por ah\u00ed, he dudado un poco\u2026 hasta que he visto un hueco por donde poder remontar y he podido rebasar a Peter. Es un triunfo que da much\u00edsima motivaci\u00f3n; ganar a Sagan, que ten\u00eda la etapa marcada y ha tenido todo el equipo trabajando para \u00e9l hoy, es espectacular Vamos a salir ma\u00f1ana con la mentalidad de seguir estando ah\u00ed y, por qu\u00e9 no, coger el \u2018rojo\u2019. Hasta el d\u00eda de hoy sal\u00eda a no perder tiempo y conseguir victorias de etapa, como las dos que he obtenido. Ma\u00f1ana ya se ver\u00e1 qu\u00e9 puede pasar en el resto de la Vuelta. Nairo se encuentra muy bien y uno u otro -ojal\u00e1 que los dos- intentaremos estar ah\u00ed. A partir de La Covatilla empezaremos a ver si nos\u00a0centramos en Nairo exclusivamente o si sigo estando por ah\u00ed. Lo que estoy es muy, muy tranquilo: dos victorias de etapa\u2026 tensi\u00f3n, ninguna\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rudy Molard (Groupama) l\u00edder:<\/strong> \u201cHoy ha sido un d\u00eda m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil que los dos \u00faltimos. El final era complicado, pero nos hemos mantenido en una buena posici\u00f3n en cabeza. Viendo lo fuerte que est\u00e1 Valverde ahora mismo, incluso batiendo a Sagan en el sprint hoy, pienso que va a ser dif\u00edcil lidiar con \u00e9l ma\u00f1ana en La Covatilla. Es el favorito para coger la roja. No he hecho nunca el puerto final de ma\u00f1ana. Hubiera preferido un puerto m\u00e1s corto y empinado, parece m\u00e1s bien que tenga un perfil escalonado. Hay un total de 4.000 metros de desnivel, as\u00ed que ya estaremos cansados al llegar al pie del puerto. All\u00ed, veremos qu\u00e9 podemos hacer\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enric Mas<\/strong> (Quick-Step Floors), mejor joven de La Vuelta: \u201cCuando hemos hecho la reuni\u00f3n esta ma\u00f1ana en el bus y he visto el perfil del final, he pensado que era un d\u00eda para Peter (Sagan) o Alejandro (Valverde), y as\u00ed ha sido. Por el momento llevamos 8 etapas y las cosas van bien para m\u00ed. Ma\u00f1ana es el primer d\u00eda de alta monta\u00f1a y estoy en el top10. Mi objetivo es acabar entre los diez primeros y quiz\u00e1s ganar una etapa\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jorge Cubero (Burgos), el m\u00e1s combativo:<\/strong> \u201cA priori no era yo el candidato para coger la fuga, pero pas\u00e1bamos por casa y esa era un aliciente para estar delante. Hab\u00eda mucha afici\u00f3n cordobesa y los \u00e1nimos me han puesto los pelos de punta. Parec\u00eda que iba a ser una fuga sin demasiada historia, que no iba a llegar, pero a falta de 10, con la diferencia que ten\u00edamos nos hemos visto con opciones y hemos so\u00f1ado con
