El ciclista de Lotto-Soudal se escap\u00f3 en el primero de los 200 kil\u00f3metros de etapa junto a otros tres corredores de los que desembaraz\u00f3 posteriormente, puerto a puerto. S\u00f3lo le sobraron seis segundos ante la espectacular ofensiva final de Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) y Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ), segundo y tercero en meta. Gracias a la misma, Alaphilippe arrebat\u00f3 el maillot amarillo al hasta hoy l\u00edder Giulio Ciccone (Trek-Segafredo) para vestirlo ma\u00f1ana en el D\u00eda de la Bastilla.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5638\" src=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/3f4ad.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"668\" srcset=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/3f4ad.jpg 1000w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/3f4ad-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/3f4ad-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>173 corredores tomaron la salida en la octava etapa del Tour de Francia 2019 a las 12:24. Arranc\u00f3 el primero Ben King (Dimension Data), y con \u00e9l se fueron Niki Terpstra (Total Direct Energie) y Thomas de Gendt (Lotto-Soudal) para formar la escapada del d\u00eda, a la que poco despu\u00e9s se uni\u00f3 Alessandro de Marchi (CCC Team) tras 20 minutos de persecuci\u00f3n. La entente en cabeza de carrera fue muy buena. Terpstra fue el primero en pasar por el sprint intermedio de Cerci\u00e9-en-Beaujolais (SI, km 33), en el cual se registr\u00f3 los 5\u201900\u201d de ventaja m\u00e1xima con los que cont\u00f3 la escapada. Respecto a los puertos de Monta\u00f1a, fue De Gendt quien pas\u00f3 primero por los siete que ofrec\u00eda el recorrido.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marcha en el pelot\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5639\" src=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/77cfd.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" srcset=\"http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/77cfd.jpg 1000w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/77cfd-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/arciclismo.com.ar\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/77cfd-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>En honor al maillot amarillo que portaba Giulio Ciccone, Trek-Segafredo asumi\u00f3 el peso en cabeza de pelot\u00f3n. Sin embargo, pronto Bora-Hansgrohe y sobre todo Team Sunweb les relevaron para paulatinamente subir la marcha y acercar el pelot\u00f3n a la escapada. El paisaje cambi\u00f3 decisivamente en la C\u00f4te de la Croix de Part (2\u00aa, km 133). Por delante, De Gendt y De Marchi soltaron a Terpstra y King para continuar en solitario. Por detr\u00e1s, Astana Pro Team tomaba el testigo de Team Sunweb para restar efectivos al pelot\u00f3n. Al pie de la C\u00f4te de la Jaill\u00e8re (3\u00aa, km 187,5), \u00faltima subida del d\u00eda, el d\u00fao de cabeza conservaba un minuto sobre el pelot\u00f3n. En la primera rampa, De Gendt aceler\u00f3 para dejar atr\u00e1s a De Marchi y buscar la victoria en solitario. En el grupo de favoritos, el vigente campe\u00f3n Geraint Thomas (Team Ineos) solventaba una ca\u00edda con ayuda de sus compa\u00f1eros. En los \u00faltimos metros de ascensi\u00f3n, Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) lanzaba un potente ataque que s\u00f3lo pudo responder Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ). Una ofensiva que no logr\u00f3 anular la espectacular cabalgada del belga, pero bien vali\u00f3 un amarillo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>DECLARACIONES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thomas De Gendt: <\/strong>\u201cHoy he tenido un d\u00eda fant\u00e1stico. Me alegr\u00e9 much\u00edsimo de formar la escapada con ciclistas tan buenos como lo que me acompa\u00f1aron. Entrar en la fuga fue f\u00e1cil y rodamos a ritmo mientras el pelot\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n lo hizo. Cuando nos dijeron que hab\u00edan acelerado, hicimos lo propio y nos pusimos a tope. Luego me dijeron que Alaphilippe y Pinot ven\u00edan a 30\u201d de m\u00ed y, sabiendo que Alaphilippe es un excelente bajador, me tir\u00e9 cuesta abajo tan r\u00e1pido como pude. Por fortuna, pude mantenerles a raya y ganar. \u00c9sta es la mejor forma posible de ganar, mucho mejor que cualquier otra. Creo que \u00e9sta es la mejor victoria de mi carrera\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julian Alaphilippe: <\/strong>\u201c\u00c9ste era el escenario ideal, pero no estaba seguro de poder hacerlo realidad. Hoy sent\u00eda que no ten\u00eda nada que perder. Mi desventaja en la general era solo de seis segundos, pero eran dif\u00edciles de recuperar. Tuve que atacar e ir a tope. La compa\u00f1\u00eda de Thibaut Pinot era ideal: sin \u00e9l, no hubiera podido recuperar a rueda y hubiera sido m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil. En los \u00faltimos 500 metros era un ahora o nunca, as\u00ed que tir\u00e9 a tope para que el pelot\u00f3n no nos cazara. No pod\u00eda ni so\u00f1ar algo mejor que vestir el maillot amarillo el D\u00eda de la Bastilla\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Giulio Ciccone: <\/strong>\u201cHoy estaba en mi l\u00edmite. Me result\u00f3 dif\u00edcil incluso mantenerme dentro del grupo de favoritos. Estoy feliz de haberlo logrado, porque eso significa que estoy en buena forma. Defender el maillot amarillo contra un corredor como Alaphilippe, con s\u00f3lo 6\u201d de ventaja, era un reto enorme. \u00c9l ha sido el m\u00e1s fuerte hoy, con una actuaci\u00f3n excelente, y s\u00f3lo puedo quitarme el sombrero. Estoy feliz de haber vestido el maillot amarillo dos d\u00edas, ha sido un gran \u00e9xito para m\u00ed. Ahora quiero disfrutar del maillot blanco\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Peter Sagan: \u201c<\/strong>He gastado much\u00edsima energ\u00eda hoy. Hubiera sido mejor quedarme en el grupetto, pero necesitaba estar delante para la lucha por el maillot verde. No tengo palabras para describir todo lo que he sufrido hoy. Mis compa\u00f1eros se pusieron a trabajar para controlar la carrera, pero despu\u00e9s de dos subidas les dije que no merec\u00eda la pena porque no ten\u00eda buenas piernas. No ten\u00eda ninguna opci\u00f3n de ganar hoy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tim Wellens: <\/strong>\u201cEs impresionante que Thomas de Gendt haya logrado la victoria. Est\u00e1bamos felices de que hubiera entrado en la escapada. En el pelot\u00f3n, habl\u00e1bamos de los motores tan enormes que hab\u00eda delante y de c\u00f3mo tendr\u00edamos que rodar muy r\u00e1pido para cazarles. En ese punto, nadie dudaba que Thomas era capaz de ganar la etapa. Todos sabemos lo fuerte que es. Esta semana ha sido fant\u00e1stica para el equipo. Hemos conseguido varios top5 con Caleb Ewan, hemos estado presentes en las escapadas, tenemos el maillot de puntos rojos\u2026 Estamos muy felices de c\u00f3mo hemos empezado el Tour de Francia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma; font-size: small;\">Nairo Quintana:<\/span><\/b> \u201cJornada muy nerviosa, con puertos cortos y rampas potentes. Hemos tratado de seguir las referencias que m\u00e1s nos interesa. Pinot sigue sacando tiempo, pero ha sido en general para todos. Seguramente Alaphilippe y \u00e9l conoc\u00edan bien la zona; es probable que desde j\u00f3venes hayan corrido por aqu\u00ed y supiesen mejor c\u00f3mo era el tramo final. Con las dudas por detr\u00e1s de qui\u00e9n tiraba o qui\u00e9n no, han aprovechado y sacado algo de tiempo.
