Sergio Higuita (EF Education First) se hizo con la victoria de etapa rematando la escapada del d\u00eda con unos 50 kil\u00f3metros de cabalgada en solitario. Un logro impresionante toda vez que tiene s\u00f3lo 22 a\u00f1os y \u00e9sta es la 18\u00aa jornada de su primera gran vuelta. En la lucha por la general, Miguel \u00c1ngel L\u00f3pez (Astana Pro Team) fue el m\u00e1s activo y tuvo como premio arrebatar el maillot blanco a Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), descabalgado en la subida a Cotos al igual que Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), quien cae a la tercera plaza de la general provisional en favor de su compa\u00f1ero Alejandro Valverde, nuevo 2\u00ba. Los primeros 30 kil\u00f3metros eran pr\u00e1cticamente llanos. Se vivieron ataques de todo tipo, principalmente a trav\u00e9s de grupos de rodadores que no lograron abrir hueco. Llegada la ascensi\u00f3n al Puerto de Navacerrada (1\u00aa, km 40,3), fue Wout Poels (Team Ineos) el primero en escaparse por delante de un pelot\u00f3n donde se suced\u00edan ataques t\u00e1cticos de los equipos de la general. El neerland\u00e9s coron\u00f3 el puerto en primera posici\u00f3n. Fue en la bajada que una docena de corredores m\u00e1s le dio alcance para configurar la fuga del d\u00eda, que cont\u00f3 con el benepl\u00e1cito del pelot\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Primera ofensiva de L\u00f3pez<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El primer paso por el Puerto de la Morcuera (1\u00aa, km 78,2) no ofreci\u00f3 m\u00e1s novedad que la primera posici\u00f3n de Geoffrey Bouchard (Ag2r La Mondiale) en la cima, que aunado con su paso en cabeza por el segundo Puerto de la Morcuera (1\u00aa, km 120,8) le sirve para ser el ganador virtual de la Monta\u00f1a: matem\u00e1ticamente s\u00f3lo \u00c1ngel Madrazo (Burgos BH), que hoy no puntu\u00f3 nada, puede desbancarle ya. Fue en esta subida, la tercera del d\u00eda, que Astana Pro Team ensay\u00f3 una ofensiva en el pelot\u00f3n para eliminar a casi todos los elementos de Jumbo-Visma y lanzar a Miguel \u00c1ngel L\u00f3pez (Astana Pro Team). El \u2018Superman\u2019 consigui\u00f3 despegarse de sus rivales, franque\u00f3 el puerto con 20\u201d de ventaja e incluso recibi\u00f3 el apoyo de su compa\u00f1ero Omar Fraile, que ven\u00eda en la escapada como pe\u00f3n t\u00e1ctico. Sin embargo, esta primera ofensiva ser\u00eda aplacada al pie del \u00faltimo puerto de la jornada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Segunda ofensiva de L\u00f3pez<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Durante el segundo descenso de Morcuera, Sergio Higuita (EF Education First) se march\u00f3 en solitario. El colombiano hizo un gran trabajo para mantener a raya a los favoritos en el Puerto de Cotos (1\u00aa, km 151,9) y llegar destacado a la meta de Becerril de la Sierra. En el grupo de favoritos, varias r\u00e1fagas de ataques de \u2018Superman\u2019 L\u00f3pez acabaron por distanciar a Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) y Nairo Quintana (Movistar Team), que unieron esfuerzos para limitar su p\u00e9rdida en meta respecto al grupo de La Roja a s\u00f3lo un minuto.
